Friends of Sheffield High (FOSH)
FAQs
- What is FOSH?
FOSH stands for Friends Of Sheffield High and is the parent/teacher association for the School.
- How do you become a member?
You automatically become a member when your daughter joins the School.
- Will it cost me anything?
The simple answer is ‘No’. There is no charge to join FOSH.
- What will I have to do?
If you would like to become involved in FOSH, then you can do as little, or as much, as you like.
- How does it work?
FOSH is made up of the Head of the School, staff and parents who represent all the different year groups throughout the School. We aim to have at least one, preferably two, parents from each year group. We meet once a term to discuss possible fund-raising and social events. We also agree with the Head what items we should consider raising funds for. When organising fund-raising and social events, we may set up sub-committees to take responsibility for these. In some cases we may co-opt people who are not on the main committee to assist in organising an event.
- Why do we need to raise funds for the School?
Not everything is covered by the fees that you pay and some other items may be given a low priority by the Trust. We therefore try to ensure that your daughter will receive the benefit of any purchases that are made by FOSH.
