Henrietta reaches public speaking finals!
15 year old Henrietta Hill from Sheffield High School successfully competed in a renowned public speaking competition to qualify for the finals for a chance to win the Crystal Prize for Public Speaking.
Henrietta travelled to Newcastle to compete against other hopefuls for a place in the finals. She gave a speech on elderly people to debate whether ‘Old people are a drain upon society and should be allowed to die with dignity’.
Speaking on her performance and how she thought the competition went, Henrietta said “It was really good fun, it was interesting to hear other peoples speeches. Overall, it was a rewarding experience.”
Henrietta’s speech was received well, and she won so making the finals of the competition, which will take place in London on the 12th March 2009. “I’m looking forward to the finals” she said “Although they’re a while away yet, I’m still quite excited”.
