Sixth Form Welcome

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to the Sheffield High School Sixth Form.

You’ve reached an exciting crossroads in your school life where, for the first time, you’ll have the chance to fully dictate the path you wish to follow. This brings with it challenges, opportunities, excitement and expectations.

In choosing to join the Sixth Form at Sheffield High School, you can be confident that academic excellence and securing and sustaining high academic outcomes are at the heart of school life. However, life in the Sixth Form at SHS is about more than simple academic success. We support the development of confident, well-rounded and independent-minded young people. The Sixth Form will provide you with new freedoms and new responsibilities, as well as the opportunity to take a leading role in the school whilst guiding you in the next step in your careers – be that university, employment or on to a gap year.

As a member of the Sixth Form at SHS you can be confident that you are surrounded by a supportive, friendly pastoral team who wish to see you succeed and who will support you in each step over the next two years. As you enter the Sixth Form, you will already have developed a strong sense of what you want to achieve academically and personally.

As well as maintaining high academic standards, we will support you in making the most of the wide range of extra-curricular opportunities on offer. The Sixth Form is a chance to continue existing interests and develop new ones.

We will also provide you with the opportunity to act as role models for the younger pupils. This may be as a prefect, by running a club or simply through a positive, mature approach to school life. The Sixth Form at Sheffield High School encourages you to take responsibility, individually and as a group, for managing your experience in the Sixth Form. In return you will find us strong advocates for ensuring that your voice is heard across the School!
